When we were young, we would dress up as characters
from books. Our favorite was "A Man Who Would Be
King" by Rudyard Kipling, 1888. We memorized and
even sang the hymn as we marched.
The Son of God goes forth to war, a kingly crown to gain;
His blood red banner streams afar: Who follows his train?
Who best can drink his cup of woe, triumphant over pain,
Who patient bears his cross below, he follows in His train.
